Hinton St George Letter to Chard 1836

Entire letter from a Mr. Guy written on the 24th May 1836 from Hinton St George to Chard. The letter received a boxed 'NO.3' receiving house mark and postage was rated at 4d which was pre-paid and indicated by the manuscrpit '4' in black. The letter was carried via Crewkerne where it received a boxed 'CREWKERNE/5"Cl Post'
The letter refers to a meeting to consider the propriety of having the parish surveyed for a new rate.
