Letter from a survivor of the Ship ‘Countess of Mar’ wrecked 6th September 1847 on the Farne Islands. The Master was a Captain Graham, this letter was posted on the 21st of September in Holyhead to Shrewsbury arriving there on the 22nd September. The stamp, a 'penny star' lettered SE is tied to the letter by the 1844-type 374 numeral postmark of Holyhead.
