Destruction of a Zeppelin

A picture postcard showing a photograph of a Zeppelin L31 brought down over Potters Bar at midnight on 30th September/1st October 1916 by gunfire. The pilot who succeeded in this task was Second-Lieutenant Wulstan J Tempest of the No. 39 Home Defence Squadron. He had seen the Zeppelin caught in searchlights, gave chase and opened fire.
