Description
This valentine dates from 1829 and has been hand-written by the sender. The border is embossed and the poem in the centre reads:
Love thee yes! dear lovely Jane,
Thee I love and only thee,
And whatever cares prevail,
Happy in the love we'll be.
Love thee yes! with love replace,
Still for thee my heart shall glow
Till my pulse forbids to beat,
Or the streams of life to flow,
Yes for ever to William's heart,
Dear and precious shalt thou be
Will thou then dear Jane impart,
Love for him who lives for thee?
