Description

This Victorian valentine was created by S. Marks and Sons of London. The picture in the middle shows a couple strolling, with a cathedral in the background. The poem reads:

With all the sweets of opulence,

Rich ones oft wretched prove,

And better far is competence,

When crown'd with virtuous love.

The star of love doth far excel,

All other stars that shine

So in its radiance let us dwell

My charming Valentine.
