This envelope from the City Bank of New York posted on 19th Feb 1943 to London was carried on Pan American flight FAM 18 between New York and Lisbon. On arrival at Lisbon on 22nd Feb 1943 the plane crashed into the Tigrue River, much of the mail was salvaged and after drying the boxed single-line cachet was applied in London.
