Ralph Allen
Ralph Allen was born in Cornwall in 1693, and at the age of 14 became a clerk at the Post Office at St.Colomb Major, Cornwall.
John Palmer
Born in Bath, Palmer was the only son of a rich tradesman, who was also a partner in the Orchard Street Theatre. He finished his education at Marlborough college and defying advice became involved in his father's theatre.
Thomas Moore Musgrave
Thomas Moore Musgrave (Postmaster of Bath 1833 - 1854) was born in London on 18th December 1774, the son of a wealthy London merchant. At the age of 14
he inherited a fortune from his father. Prior to 1802 Musgrave had residence
overseas, and was well qualified in several continental languages,
particularly Portuguese & German.
