1990-024-01
A card posted on the first day of the UK Aerial Post in 1911, celebrating the development of the aeroplane, how it could contribute to the speedy delivery of mail and the coronation of King George V. Only ‘privileged’ mail was flown on the first day so this card would have been flown on 11th, 12th or 14th September. The first official airmail was flown in India in February 1911.
