Post Office Notice

  • Digital Collection
1996-006-01 A notice which would have been displayed in post offices from 1 May 1886 giving the cost of sending a parcel and the regulations relating to size, etc. The notice also deals with the compensation payable in the event of the loss of a registered letter or packet. These rates changed considerably over the period from 1886 and it was important that the public were aware of this. Hence the need for the notice.
