This envelope from London and addressed to Lucerne was carried on the Imperial Airways Lockheed Electra G-AFGN plane which caught fire on landing. Part of the mails were destroyed. This partly charred envelope was processed at Bern and forwarded to its destination in this ambulance envelope, receiving the cachet in red.
