Transcription follows;

Dear Sir

                        After waiting on Mr. Rawlins’ several times I can now acquaint you of a certainty of receiving part of the money.  Ten Pounds are already paid to a friend of mine & he afsures me of ye Remainder before I leave ye Country.  I have to be in Oxon in a fortnight if nothing extraordinary happens to prevent it, my Father I think gets better which flatters me with the hopes of seeing you by that time, bringing the money with me. – Mr. Rawlins would be a Purchaser of ye Fre(e) Farm Rents if you do not ask too much for them; I am afraid he puffs too much, being convinced it is not in his Power to raise the money for ye Purchase. Should it be otherwise shall be glad to be of any Service to you whilst in ye Country as my Father likewise will when I leave it.  My best Compts: wait on Mrs Wickham.

I am
